BIMI Checker and Record Generator
Check your BIMI record, the DMARC policy it depends on, your SVG logo against SVG Tiny PS and your VMC or CMC. See what Gmail, Apple Mail and Yahoo will show, and copy a record. Free, no sign-up, nothing stored.
Your Domain
Try it: paypal.com, salesforce.com
Options: selector
Most domains use default. Another one comes from the BIMI-Selector header of your mail.
Create Your BIMI Record
Fill in where your logo and certificate live; the record updates as you type. A check above fills it in for you.
https, an SVG Tiny PS file.
The PEM file from your VMC or CMC issuer. Empty: no certificate.
Check an SVG Logo Before You Publish It
Pick the file on your computer. It is read in your browser and never uploaded.
What Is BIMI?
BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com that points to your logo. Mailboxes that support it show the logo next to your email, often only with a certificate that proves the logo is yours.
It works only once DMARC is enforced, because the logo must never appear on spoofed mail. BIMI is still an Internet-Draft (version 14, May 2026).

Get Your Logo Into the Inbox
Six steps; the checker tells you which one you are on.
- 1
Enforce DMARC
p=quarantine or p=reject for the domain and its organizational domain, no pct below 100, no sp=none.
- 2
Make an SVG Tiny PS Logo
Square, centred on a solid background, with a title and nothing active in it. Check the file with the tool above before you publish it.
- 3
Host It on https
Any web server will do; its address goes into l=.
- 4
Get a Certificate for Gmail and Apple
A VMC needs a registered trademark, a CMC a logo in public use for 12 months. The issuer gives you a PEM file for a=.
- 5
Publish the Record
A TXT record at default._bimi: v=BIMI1; l=…; a=…; The generator above writes it.
- 6
Check, Then Wait
Mailboxes also weigh your volume and reputation, so the logo may take a while to appear.
VMC or CMC?
Both prove the logo is yours; they differ in what they need and what Gmail shows.
Both run at most 398 days; the BIMI Group lists DigiCert, GlobalSign and SSL.com as issuers.
- VMC
Verified Mark Certificate
For a logo registered as a trademark with a recognised trademark office. Gmail can add the blue checkmark, and Apple Mail requires a VMC. In the certificate: mark type “Registered Mark” or “Government Mark”.
- CMC
Common Mark Certificate
For a logo without a registered trademark that you have shown publicly for at least 12 months. Gmail shows it without the checkmark (supported since September 2024). In the certificate: “Prior Use Mark”, “Modified Registered Mark” or “Provisional Mark”.

SVG Tiny PS Rules
What the checker tests in your logo file.
- 32 KBAt most, for the draft and Gmail
- 64Characters at most in the title
- Root Attributes. version="1.2" and baseProfile="tiny-ps" on the svg element; no x or y.
- One Title. A title element with your company name, at most 64 characters.
- Nothing Active. No scripts, event attributes, links, animation or embedded images. Turn text and pictures into paths.
- Nothing External. No style sheets or files from elsewhere; colours go into the shapes.
- Square and Centred. Mailboxes crop the logo to a circle or a rounded square. Centre it on a solid background.
- 32 KB or Less. The draft and Gmail ask for 32 KB; Fastmail shows only logos under 16 KB.
For Pardot and Marketing Cloud Next
Salesforce Help says nothing about BIMI (checked 17 October 2026). This follows from how both send.
Account Engagement (Pardot)
BIMI is DNS only: nothing to set up in Account Engagement (Pardot). The logo shows only if your Pardot mail passes DMARC, and in Pardot that happens through DKIM (selector 200608), because the return-path is a Salesforce domain.
Marketing Cloud Next
The same applies: DMARC must be enforced for the sending domain. Salesforce activates an authenticated domain without DMARC, so check it before you publish BIMI.
BIMI Checker FAQ
Short answers to what people ask about BIMI.
Is BIMI free?
Publishing the record is free. A VMC or CMC costs a yearly fee from the issuer; Yahoo and Fastmail can show a logo without one.
Do I need a VMC for BIMI?
For Gmail a VMC or a CMC, for Apple Mail a VMC. Yahoo doesn’t require one.
Why is my BIMI logo not showing?
Most often DMARC is not enforced, or your mail doesn’t pass it. Next: no certificate for Gmail or Apple, an SVG that isn’t Tiny PS or can’t be fetched, or too little volume and reputation. Run the checker; it tests all but the last.
Does BIMI work with p=quarantine?
Yes, if pct is 100 or absent and no sp=none weakens subdomains.
What about t=y and RFC 9989?
RFC 9989 (May 2026) replaced pct with t=y for testing. The BIMI draft still refers to the older DMARC standard, so the checker treats t=y as not enforced. That is our reading, not yet the draft’s.
Does BIMI work for subdomains?
Yes. A subdomain without its own record uses the one of its organizational domain, and DMARC must be enforced for both.
Is the domain I check stored?
No. Our server asks a public DNS resolver and fetches the logo and certificate your record names; nothing is saved or logged. An SVG file you pick is read only in your browser.
