CSV Splitter: Split Large CSV Files
Split a large CSV export into parts by rows or by size, with the header row in every part. Download them one by one or as one ZIP. Free, in your browser, nothing uploaded.
Your CSV File
The splitter needs JavaScript.
Import Limits, Met in One Step
Imports, mail tools and spreadsheets all stop at some size. The splitter cuts the file where you say and repeats the header row, so every part imports on its own.
Rows stay whole: a value with a line break in quotes is one row, and it never gets cut in half.
part-01.csv

anna…,Anna,37

part-02.csv

…Try a Common Limit
Each sets the splitter for a typical limit.
- Salesforce
Data Import Wizard: 50,000 Records
The Data Import Wizard takes up to 50,000 records at a time. This example splits 60,000 rows into two files that each fit.
- 50,000records per wizard run
- 2files from 60,000 rows
- 1header row in each
- Rows
1,000 Rows per File
Small batches for testing an import before the full run.
- Size
5 MB per File
For upload forms and email attachments with a size limit.
- Size
1 MB per File
For tools that accept only small files.
- Rows
10,000 Rows per File
For spreadsheets and mail tools that slow down above that.

Splitting Exports for Salesforce and Pardot
Where the parts usually go.
- 50,000Records per Data Import Wizard run
- 50MB per file, read in your browser
- 500Parts at most per split
- Data Import Wizard. Imports up to 50,000 records at a time, per Salesforce Trailhead; for more, Salesforce points to Data Loader.
- Pardot imports. Account Engagement (Pardot) matches imported prospects by email or by CRM ID. Keep those columns in every part; the repeated header makes sure they are named.
- Order of the parts. Parts keep the order of your file, so the first part holds the first rows.
- Before you split. Remove duplicates first with the CSV merger, so the same email doesn’t land in two parts.

CSV Splitter FAQ
Short answers to what people ask about splitting CSV files.
How do I split a large CSV file into smaller files?
Open it in the splitter above, choose rows or MB per file and download the parts as one ZIP or one by one. Each part gets the header row.
Does every part keep the header row?
Yes, unless you switch it off. The header is the first row of your file.
Can a row be cut in half?
No. The splitter cuts between rows, and values in quotes with line breaks stay in one row.
How large can the file be?
Up to 50 MB, read in your browser in parts so the page stays usable. A split makes at most 500 parts.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is read and split in your browser and the parts are made there too. Nothing is sent or stored, and nothing from the file reaches analytics.
